After unprotected intercourse, if a condom is raped or torn, emergency contraception may be necessary, preparations for which have been developed in large numbers. However, some methods of emergency contraception without consulting a gynecologist can greatly harm the body.
The intrauterine device is a sufficiently reliable emergency contraceptive. It is administered by a gynecologist to the uterus within five days after intercourse. The spiral does not allow the closure of the uterine cavity. In addition, the spiral braid material causes a local inflammatory reaction that leads to a spermicidal effect, that is, the sperm loses its ability to fertilize. However, it should be noted that after the rape, the intrauterine device is dangerous to inject. After all, this can cause infection with a venereal disease, and this procedure will facilitate the penetration of infection in the upper genital tract.
- the uterus is constantly ajar, allowing the penetration of microbes;
- spiral, as a foreign body, provokes painful and profuse periods, especially in sensitive women;
- because of the spiral fluid flows from the uterus into the abdominal cavity, occasionally provoking an ectopic pregnancy.
- spiral will not protect against genital infections.
Contraindications:malignant tumor in the cervix, chronic infections of the appendages and uterus, erosion of the cervix. The spiral does not hold in women who have a cervical uteri deformed after birth, because of what unplanned conception is possible.

This obsolete drug contains a very high dose of the levonorgestrel hormone, which has a powerful negative effect on the ovaries. In addition to the termination of pregnancy, the menstrual cycle may be impaired. Apply Postinor more often than twice a year is dangerous! Especially for girls under the age of 19, with an unformed hormonal balance. Many contraindications.

Not recommended for regular contraception. It does not protect against genital infections.
Contraindications:breast-feeding, severe extragenital pathology, renal, adrenal and hepatic insufficiency, hypersensitivity to mifepristone. It should be used with caution in heart failure and rhythm disturbance, with arterial hypertension, lung diseases, hemostasis disorders.

Very effective from the first days of menstruation to 42 days of delay. Sufficiently effective from 6 to 8 weeks. After this period, its effect drops sharply. The procedure is carried out exclusively by a gynecologist who has the appropriate license.
The newest tool for emergency contraception. It causes inhibition of ovulation and prevents the implantation of a fertilized egg. Efficacy at reception during 96 hours after the sexual certificate or act - 98,5%.The sooner you take the pill, the more likely it is to prevent conception. However, the drug is ineffective when the implantation is already performed. If the dosage is observed, it does not adversely affect the body. Meanwhile, for regular contraception is not intended.
