How to know how many bits of Windows?

The capacity of the system is one of its basic characteristics, and therefore the user must know how to find out how many bits are in his system. Today, as a rule, we are dealing with 32-bit and 64-bit systems. In this article we will analyze three ways to clarify the width of the operating system on the example of Windows (Windows).

Properties of the system

In our opinion, this is the fastest way to find out the system capacity. To enter the system properties, you need to click on the "My Computer" shortcut with the right mouse button and select the "Properties" item in the drop-down menu. In the "View basic information about your computer" window that opens, in the "System" subsection, you can see the system width in the "System type" line.

System partition

One of the distinguishing characteristics of 64-bit systems is the ability to work with 32-bit systems, at a time when 32-bit with 64-bit programs can’t get over. Owing to this feature on 64-bit systems in the section "Local disk (С :)" you will see two folders - Program Files and Program Files (x86),while on 32-bit only one is Program Files.

Command line

You can find out the bit depth using the command line, which can be launched from the Start menu. In the command line field, enter the command "Set Pro" and press the "Enter" key. You will see a list of system parameters, among which will be the type of system.

As you can see, all the ways to determine the system capacity are very simple, and even a novice user can handle them.
