The process of remaking the muffler

  1. Remove the old muffler from your car.
  2. Using a grinder, cut a hole in the resonator along the entire length.
  3. Next, cut out the components of the resonator (stiffening ribs and two tubes). Cutting the pipes, leave three centimeters on each side to make it easier to weld the new pipe.
  4. Saw the prepared metal pipe to the desired size.
  5. Using a drill or an angle grinder, make holes in the pipe every two to three centimeters.
  6. Using a welding machine, weld the pipe to the remains of the cut pipes in the resonator.
  7. Hammer the space with metal jaws.
  8. Weld the cut off cover back from the resonator.
  9. Cut off part of the muffler (from the resonator to the point of exhaust gases).
  10. The second piece of pipe (0.5 meters long) must be welded to the cut-off place.
  11. Before installing a new muffler, it must be cleaned and painted.
