How to recover missing messages in Outlook Express?
How to recover missing messages in Outlook Express? The problem is this. At the next launch of the outlook, all the folders were empty, there are no messages. At the same time, the files inbox.dbx, "sent items.dbx" and others that correspond to the folders have retained their size; when viewing files in the editor, you can even find addresses, names of topics and other text in them. That is, the data in them is preserved, but Outluk does not want to display them. The address book is also empty. Tried to experiment with the file folders.dbx - did not help. Has anyone come across this? Not sure how to recover messages?

This happens when the Inbox (Inbox.dbx file) exceeds the size of 2GB. Or if the size of the Inbox folder is larger than the amount of free space left on the drive and the automatic compression option is enabled. I myself came across this several times in serviced firms - the folder is full-sized, and in OE messages are not visible and when I try to download new ones, it gives an error. If the old messages are not important - you can simply delete the "Inbox.dbx" file and after rebooting, OE will create this folder again - empty and the new messages will be loaded and displayed without problems (until the next limit is exceeded). I can still advise this program. I have a friend so restored, I did not personally use it myself, but I often heard about it, it was even posted on the tech support site on Microsoft and judging by the feedback and words from a friend helped.
