Mimosa - a flower for the soul
In the early spring, you suddenly notice how thousandstiny fluffy suns hang in the trees. And they smell incredibly beautiful and dizzying scent! You walk along the yellow street and think, is there such an indescribable beauty in paradise? Inhaling this blessed scent, it is easy to imagine what a yellow and sweet must be a honey of these flowers! Natural honey of mimosa is one of the few that does not crystallize. Its texture is rather delicate, and the smell is as close as possible to what we feel from the branches. Therefore, to break away from this beauty is simply impossible. All these solar plexuses of shaggy crumbs attract and beckon ... So the flowers are mimosa.
It was a lyrical indent. The beauty of these little yellow fuzzy leaves no one indifferent. But we habitually call a "mimosa" flower, which is actually called acacia. Or rather - acacia whitish or silvery. However, the wrong name of this plant is so common that even notable biologists often call it mimosa.
It is an evergreen tree, quite high - up to 25m. Refers to a rich family of legumes, subfamily mimosa. Most species have spines. There are about 400 species of this plant. And every year the growers create more and more new species. Mimosa is a flower that is not fastidious. It can grow like a broad bush and like a tree with a sprawling chic crown, or it can climb and curl on a fence, like a vine. And can live on the windowsills of houses. Fluffy flowers consist of many stamens, covering, like a carpet, green narrow leaves. Flowers, like leaves, can vary greatly in different species.
The acacia is silvery, as already mentioned,allows to grow it in room conditions. It is important only to ensure regular (but by no means superfluous) watering, cool hibernation and acid soil. The mimosa flower reproduces by the usual sowing of seeds or by the rooting of semi-matured cuttings.
The main feature of the plant is itsmobility. The slightest touch to the leaves causes them to fold. And the more intense the touch, the stronger and faster the leaves wilt. Every day at night, they themselves turn off without mechanical effects - gradually the plant "falls asleep." And in the early morning (or after 5-25 minutes after the touch), the "sleepy" leaves assume their former position. The assumptions of gardeners prove that such active mobility reliably protects the plant from damage and eating by insects. Here is such a mysterious and unusual mimosa.
This flower is considered quite capriciousgreenhouse "tenant". This fact is fixed in the artistic and in some scientific literature. But practice completely refutes this stereotype. In the room, the mimosa catches a wonderful place. Flowers multiply by sowing seeds in the spring month of March. In order for them to germinate better, they are recommended to scald with boiling water, placing, for example, in a fine strainer for an ordinary teapot. The best depth of seeding of these seeds is 0.7-1 cm, and the substrate is nutritious, loose. Young plants try to dive into separate pots with a similar filling and keep them in a bright warm place, sprinkling regularly and also constantly, adhering to the schedule, to sprinkle them with settled warm water. With age, unfortunately, mimosa loses attractive decorative, because it is either severed or grown as a simple annual, receiving annually from seeds.
Mimosa is a flower that inspires poets, artists and perfumers. All of them dedicate their creations to this lovely and sunny flower. And not for nothing - the miracle of nature deserves it.
