Installation, purpose and design of cables

Cable РПШ, intended for a feed of unitsvoltage 220, 380 and 660 volts, is stranded, with a rubber layer of insulation. The scope of application of this product is the supply of electrical appliances and the installation of various electrical equipment. By design, the conductor is quite simple. It consists of three conductors, the cross-section of which can be from 0.75 to 10 mm2.

The cores of the cable are round in shape or twisted into one copper wire. The insulation of the wire is made of rubber or rubber based rubber, while the insulation shell is made in the form of a hose.

Before installation, the RPSH cable is preheated to a temperature of 10 degrees Celsius. This is necessary in order to solder it or press it with a connecting material.

The RPS cable is not suitable for outdoor installation,because it does not tolerate temperature changes, moisture and open sunlight. Conductors of this type include modifications and can be ordered at the factory in various versions, and modifications of such a cable contribute to an increase in service life, the ability to work outdoors. Also they are used even for protection against radio interference. The RPS cable is shown in the figure below.

Wires of this type are also suitable for connecting low-power and medium-power consumers. For example:

  • microwave;
  • outdoor fixtures;
  • small electric motors and other consumers.

The color of such a cable is usually black, butthe wire is allowed to be painted in any of the colors. It should be noted that the primary insulation of the conductors is colored green, yellow and red. Also, the wire is quite flexible and can withstand multiple bends (500 and over cycles).

  • The insulation resistance per kilometer is 0.11 GΩ.
  • The normal operating voltage at which the wire can be used is 220, 380, 660 volts with a frequency of 50 to 400 Hz.
  • The critical voltage for the cable at 50 Hz is 1500 volts
  • The weight of the cable can be different, depending on the type of execution and the number of cores.
  • Possible construction length - at least 35 meters
  • The insulation layer can vary depending on the version, cross-section of the conductors and cable, but according to the standard for a cross section of 10 mm2the thickness of the surface layer is from 1.5 to 2 mm2.
