So what are the planes flying on? There are several types of aircraft fuel, to be more precise - three:
- The first type is aviation gasoline. This type of fuel is used for airplanes with piston engines (roughly speaking, as in a car). But this fuel differs from engine gasoline in higher quality, because the road is not the sky. Two types of this gasoline are produced, this is the B - 100/300 and the unleaded version of the same brand. There is also a certain GOST that controls compliance with European standards.
- Aviation kerosene is the second and most common type of aviation fuel. There is a shortage of it, but it is still produced and often used. There are several types of kerosene. TC-1 - kerosene with added sulfur. It is used in civil and military aviation (very rarely on supersonic aircraft). T-6 is already used for supersonic flights. Low-altitude aircraft fill the T-1 with kerosene.
- Jet fuel is the most modern and reliable fuel for aircraft.
