Hecate was the "occult sister" of Artemis. They are similar in character and some attributes. Both that, and another rush on them one led ways and roads. Both do not have a husband who would restrain their freedom. Both dogs accompany the other. Both patronize women in distress. The lunar triad presents Hecate as a “virgin” goddess. The virgin goddesses are nowadays associated with internal pressure in women. They tend to follow their own interests, solve problems on their own, compete with others, clearly express themselves through word or art forms, put the world around them in order, or lead a contemplative life to their own taste. Such a goddess (and a woman with similar qualities) is driven by the need to follow her inner values, to do what makes sense personally for her or satisfies her herself, regardless of what other people think. All this fully applies to Artemis and Hecate. But even Selena here chooses virgin loneliness. She sits and dreams of a sweetheart, who sleeps in her lap. For some reason, a real relationship with a man does not attract her.
