Alexey Anatolyevich Navalny was born in the military town of Butyn (Moscow Region, Odintsovo District) in 1976 in the family of a soldier. After graduation, he moved to Moscow, where he studied at the Law Faculty of the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia. Then Alexey successfully graduated from the Financial Academy under the Government of the Russian Federation.
After the university, together with the work of a lawyer, Alexey Navalny embarked on active public work. He joined the Yabloko party (Navalny was a member of the party’s Federal Political Council, he was a member of the regional council of the Moscow branch of Yabloko).

For some time, Navalny led the “Committee to Protect Muscovites,” whose goal was to protect the residents of the capital from the violation of their rights and the corruption of officials.The television project Political Debates, which was led by Navalny, received scandalous fame after the second release. RosPil, the anti-corruption project of Alexei Navalny, dedicated to the fight against abuses in public procurement, has done the most noise.
